UMR Communications helps your
outreach and evangelism
EXTEND. effectively.
To extend a welcoming hand, a church connects most effectively with a personal approach. So when First United Methodist Church of Prosper, Texas, embarked on a strategy to reach out to households in its growing community, the church called on UMR Communications. UMR created materials that invited and welcomed visitors for the church's Christmas Eve services. Each piece was designed to engage potential church members in a meaningful way. First, UMR designed, produced and mailed postcards to targeted households in Prosper, inviting them to the services. Using the same graphic theme, posters announced the service and printed bulletins greeted attendees. After Christmas, UMR mailed personalized postcards to everyone who attended one of the Christmas Eve services, featuring a photo taken during the candlelight service. The message from the pastor was simply, “Thanks for worshiping with us at Prosper United Methodist Church.” Each postcard was personalized with the names of people from that household who attended a service. With this timely, personalized follow-up, many of those Christmas Eve visitors returned to First UMC.
