UMR Communications helps new faith communities PLANT.effectively.
Moscow United Methodist Church in Moscow, Idaho, needed to plant its message in the minds of members of the surrounding community. UMR Communications helped the church sow the right seeds to plant the right messages. Moscow is a college town, home of the University of Idaho, with a population that is relatively young and transient. When the church prepared to launch a new worship experience, leaders contacted UMR Communications to formulate a strategy to boost awareness of the church, inform community members of the new worship service and to extend an open invitation to visit. UMR designed and produced a series of printed materials, presenting a consistent message and clear brand identity through different materials targeted to specific audiences. Postcards were direct-mailed to home-owners under age 50. Door hangers were created to reach members of the college community living in high-density residential areas. The church also placed posters throughout the area to invite visitors to try the new worship service and to experience a new place to belong.
